The Truth Behind the Titles

What Ambition Really Looks Like

About Me

I’m Joanne Bartolome — a writer, former founder, and strategic advisor who knows exactly what it feels like to look like you’re thriving while quietly falling apart.

For years, I was the go-to: the consultant, the teacher, the problem-solver, the one people relied on to have it all figured out. I scaled businesses, mentored founders, and taught strategy — all while running my own company and holding everyone else up.

But behind the scenes, I was burning out.

Not in the loud, dramatic way we usually picture. Mine was the quiet kind — the kind that creeps in while you’re still meeting deadlines, smiling on calls, and convincing everyone (including yourself) that you’re fine.

Letters From Joanne started as a way to process that unraveling. It’s grown into a platform for high-achieving, heart-heavy women like me who are tired of performing strength and ready to lead with something deeper: clarity, emotional truth, and a version of ambition that doesn’t destroy them.

Now, I write and speak about the things we’re often too tired — or too afraid — to say out loud: what it means to do hard things without hardening, how to navigate burnout while still being “the strong one,” and how women can redefine success on their own terms.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re holding it all together while quietly falling apart — I’ve been there. And I want you to know: you’re not broken. You’re just tired of carrying what was never meant to be yours alone.
